Tuesday Night Budweiser By-Laws (2025-26) Season

 

TUESDAY BUDWEISER BOWLING LEAGUE BY-LAWS   2025-2026

1.     Bowling will start at 6:30pm (practice 6:20pm). If a bowler is late, they may bowl if the first ball in the 6th frame has not been rolled. If a team does not have a legal lineup, there will be a five-minute waiting period. After that time the first game will be forfeited.  A position round halfway through each half (wk 9/26) will be implemented only with total # of teams less than 17 total.

2.     When bowling unopposed, the team must bowl with in 50 pins of the team’s average and 10 pins of the bowler’s average to be awarded points (against non-participating/rostered team).   Vacant scores remain 150 plus 60 handicap = 210 total.

3.     Late Team/individuals are given absent score as stated in rule #2. Teams have until the first ball of the 6th frame.

4.     A team shall consist of (five) 5 men / women bowlers. Three (3) bowlers from the team’s roster will establish a legal lineup. Vacant bowler(s) do not count towards establishing a legal lineup.

5.     A 29 Point match play system will be used.  5 Points per game individual match point (15 total), 2 Points per team game won (6 total), 5 Points per series individual match point (5 total) and 3 Points for total series (3 total).

               I.e.: GM 1 – 7 Points / GM  2 – 7 Points / GM 3 – 7 Points / Individual and Team Totals 8 Points = 29 Points Total

6.     League will NOT allow the use of open subs. Each team will complete a roster form of up to eight (8) bowlers. Roster forms will be open until the end of the sixth week. For the second half of the season, rosters will be open from the first week of the second half until the end of the sixth week   If a roster member wants to fulfill an open spot on another team a league captains vote is required to confirm the change.

7.     Team lineups requiring a Vacant bowling score will use 160 average – 10 pins.  150 plus 60 handicap = 210 total.

8.     When the lineup consists of Blind vs Blind or Vacant vs Blind each team will receive 2 points for those positions. Team on the left points for Games 1 & 2, team on the right points for Game 3 & Series total.

9.     All teams must pay a sponsor’s fee of $25.00 due by the end of the 4th week.   Teams entering the second half, sponsor fee is due by the end of the second half 4th week (week 21).

10.  Returning bowlers will use last year’s Tuesday Budweiser / or highest USBC average of 21 games or more for the first nine games of the season. If they have no average in the last two (2) years, their average will be determined on their first 3 games during their first night of bowling.  Averages based on highest USBC Average for current year or if not applicable, previous year (2024-25 or 2023-24 season).

11.  Team Handicap will be calculated by adding up the 5 bowler’s handicaps at 100% of the difference from a mean average of current 240. League established handicap will be based on the highest entering average bowler rounded up to the nearest 10. i.e.: highest league average bowler 235 / handicap based off 240

For Example

Bowler 1 Average 160 – Handicap = 80

Bowler 2 Average 180 – Handicap = 60

Bowler 3 Average 200 – Handicap = 40

Bowler 4 Average 220 – Handicap = 20

Bowler 5 Average 230 – Handicap = 10

                              Team Handicap = 210

12.  Team lineup shall be entered in lowest to highest average order. As shown above in rule eight (8). Roster changes will be placed in the lineup based on their established average.  Bowlers who enter the match late will adjust the lineup accordingly and individual series point will be based on majority of # of games bowled against in the lineup.

13.  Absentee score will be 10 pins less than the bowler’s average with the most games bowled. If 2 bowlers have the same number of games, then the highest average will be used.

For Example:

Bowler Average 200 – 10 = Absentee Average 190

Bowler Average 180 – 10 = Absentee Average 170

 

14.  Cancellation of bowling will be decided by the league officers and called into Blue Valley Lanes by 4:00pm. All team captains will be notified of any cancellation by the league officers. We also provide site for league postings.

Team captains are required to notify their teammates of any such cancellation. The schedule will be pushed back one week. No pre-bowling allowed for weather related issues.

15.  Individual team weather related cancellations and make-ups must be completed within 15 days with no exceptions. Except for a position round where it must be completed within 7 days prior.

16.  Pre-bowling is not allowed for individuals. Team pre-bowling is allowed. Pre-bowling must be no longer than one week prior to the week the pre-bowl is intended for. Captains must agree and be made up as a team. Scores and /or changes must be checked and initialed by a Blue Valley employee on the score sheet.

17.  If a bowler is more than one (1) week in arears for bowling fees they forfeit all 4 individual points unless prior arrangements with league offices has been approved. Bowlers must bring all league fees up to date upon returning before being allowed to bowl. It’s the team captain’s responsibility to ensure all bowlers are up to date with regards to league fees.  Any bowler requesting to leave or not returning during the year must have all league fees up to date and are required to pay two weeks in advance of leaving.

18.  Bowling fee is $22.00 per week.

19.  Sanction Fee will be $25.00. ($15.00 for USBC and $10.00 for MONROE COUNTY Bowling Association-local).

Sanction Fee must be paid by all bowlers unless paid in another league within the Monroe County Bowling Association.  If bowlers bowl in another league outside of Monroe County, then only the Monroe County sanction ($10.00) is due.

20.  When there is a tie and a roll-off is needed, total with match points will be the winner. If more than 2 teams are tied or remain tied, there will be a 4th game roll off that night.

21.  Paid Fees: League Score Sheet Completion – Blue Valley Lanes No Fee / League Secretary – Treasurer   $600.00

22.  The first week of the second half (12/23/2025), all bowlers must pay for two weeks ($44.00). This pays for the last night of bowling (week 34) in advance.

23.  No checks will be accepted after week 32 which is  March 31st, 2026.

24.  Lineage fees for the 2025-2026 season will be $14.25 per bowler for 34 weeks.

25.  Bowling Schedule – The league shall consist of a split season with each team bowling each other at least once per half. All remaining weeks shall be for position if number of teams is less than 16.  Position weeks will be number to fill the 1st half/2nd half and scheduled within the halves.

26.  Bryan Strouse and Mike Fritz will be the only name listed on the checking account for the 2024-2025 season at BB&T bank.

27.  Treasurer will give league president a bank financial statement and spread sheet once per month.

28.  Bowl when the arrow is present on your name. Please do not wait, unless you are bowling the blind team (if there are an odd number of teams).  Please, only one ball on the return rack at a time.

29.  If there is a vacant team, the point wins and losses that they earn will go to a new team that joins the league after season starts.

30.  Roll off league champion will consist of a three game match where total points will determine the winner. This rule is in conjunction with USBC rules.

31.  No one under the age of 18, at the start of the season, is permitted to bowl or join the league.

32.  All individual/team award winners are only eligible to win the highest level of award (High Average, High Series, etc)
